    Installation troubles

I installed LDT2005 through a network deployment. Fine.
I then customized the workstation and setup the data files and paths manually because the network deployment doesn't accept my network drives. (I don't know why) Anyhow, I did all the customization in the workstation in the administrator profile. When I log in as another user in the OS, or setup a new user in the OS, LDT2005 begins to reinstall again (Windows Installer). I loose all the customization, menus, paths, etc.

How can I make a default installation for LDT2005 so that when a new user, or an existing user, logs in to the OS they all get the same settings in LDT2005???

There's got to be a way. I can't imagine anyone doing each workstation manually.

Our office uses windows 2000 and XP.

Any help wil be greatly appreciated.

For all the LDT settings you can set all your paths in the "sdsk.dfm" file located in the install directory. You can then copy that file around to all your workstations with a batch file.

If you are refering to the paths in the AutoCAD profile you can export the profile you created to a network location and just create a new shortcut on the desktop that has the target location pointing to this profile. That way anyone who runs that shortcut will automatically load the profile you want them to have. Here is how ours is set up.

    "C:\Program Files\Land Desktop 2004\acad.exe" /p "H:\Standards\LDT2004\Profiles\LDT2004.arg" /nologo

This network location is set to read-only for the general users so that they can't modify the profile.

    Hope this helps.
