    license server

What kind of pc do most people put the license server on, an existing server
like a file server, or just a cheap pc that you will just set up and leave
    alone....?

    any suggestions/recommendations?

It depends on how many licenses you have and if you want redundant or
distributed license servers as well as other factors.

For only 2 or so licenses you could even put them on one of the users PC's
as long as he know that he has to have it running so the others can access
    the license.

You can also put it on the file server. I have it like this right now for a
couple of the distributed servers I have.
