acad 2004 network installation wizard hangs

I have 22 seats of stand alone autocad 2004 and I installed the NIW.
Ran netsetup and went through everything just fine for creating the
administrative image out on a server using the stand alone license option.
When I get to the verify page and hit 'NEXT' the ms installer pops up and
hangs until the computer decides it's been too long and errors out. I've
tried many different locations for the cd location and admin image location
but it always does the same thing.
Autodesk has a blurb about avoiding the use of apostraphes in the personal
info which I checked and I am not using any.
    Any ideas?
If I go to the cd and rightclick on acad.msi and choose install it will
    install autocad no problem.

    oh btw,
I have tried running netsetup from a winXP pro sp2 box and also a win 2K sp4
box to a server location on the novell network as well as a server in a
    windows domain.
