How to delete layer from copied block

    Hello,

I have a little problem. I just copied a block from one drawing to another
and it brought all of it's attributes layers with it. No problem. There's
nothing on those layers, so I just purged them. However, the blocks layer
will not purge. I want to re-create this block with some slight changes and
add my own attributes and I don't want that spurious layer to come along. Any
idea how to get rid of that layer. BTW, I already tried moving the block I'm
copying, in it's original drawing, to the "0" layer and it didn't help.
    Thanks!

    Jeremy

Try exploding the block and change the layer attributes of the now exploded
lines you should then be able to delete the offending layer

Maybe that the block contains another block, so would need to make sure it is all exploded.

    I don't know why I didn't think of that. I'll give it a try. Thanks a lot!

Yeah, another person posted that and it worked. Thanks for your input!
