How do I snap when placing a fence?

    Just starting to use V8.
When I try placing a fence, I can't snap to a point unless I hold down
ctrl+shift. This is with acusnap on or off. When drawing a line, I
have to use accusnap on as tentative snaps don't work. Snap Lock is
    on.
I have a Logitech MX500 with the button above the wheel set to middle
    button.
Is there a setting I need to change?

May sound silly, and I'm sure you've done it, but I had a similar thing with
a user. We checked the 'Workspace > Button assignments' and found they had
    been reset to something unusual.

What you describe is how it works in MicroStation V8. There has been previous conversation regarding this in the Bentley discussion
groups -- see http://discussion.bentley.com/help/ for more information on how to get to those.

That was it, thanks. I saw 'Workspace >Preferences >Mouse' & got
    blinded to button assignments.
