Format>Primary Units>Decimal>Precision (whatever you want). Then go to
Dimension at top and pull-down until you find Update. Pick Update and window
the entier dwg.
SCALE > ALL > pick a point > 1/12
Now a 36" wide door is 3 units wide.

Better to redefine dimension styles as Walt E. suggests rather than re-scale the drawing....
This topic seems to be a little mixed up...
You have a drawing done in architectural units (I assume you mean units and
not scale), and you want to convert it to decimal. This means changing the
units so that what used to read 3'-0" now reads 36.00. Is that what you want
to do?
Or do you want to convert your drawing from inches to millimetres? In that
case, you have to a) change your units from architectural to decimal, AND b)
scale everything up by 25.4 times. (I don't know where that 1/12 came
from!). This means what used to read 3'-0" now reads 914.4. Is that what you
want to do?
If you need to go from imperial to metric, then another alternative would be
to leave the drawing objects be, but change the DIMLFAC in the dimension
style to 25.4. To do this, open the Dimension Style Manager with the
relevant style current, then go to the Primary Units tab. Set the
Measurement Scale Factor to 25.4.

Kinda sounds like they did that, but the drawing itself was originally drawnBetter to redefine dimension styles as Walt E. suggests rather than

with 1 ft as the drawing unit. They said they wanted decimal but didn't say
what unit they wanted. Apparently feet was not what they had in mind....
The OP said they wanted to convert the drawing. They said nothing about
dimensioning. Or did I misunderstand them?
