2000 and 2004 2 differnt plots of raster image

what could cause my AutoCAD 2000 to print worse quality raster images than 2004? the printer driver is the EXACT same for both, i've checked all the settings that i can think of, from imagequality, to plotting in 2000 all the different ole options and get nothing. 2004 looks great but the exact same file printed from 2000 looks poor and some of the text in a raster image cannot be read.

2000 does have the plot update as well, unless there is a newer one within the past year or so.

i'm printing to a Xerox 510 machine

any ideas?

tiff's or jpegs, they both do it

2004 only accepts uncompressed tiffs, 2000 does compressed tiffs: would a
change in 2000 fix the problem?

hmmm i'm not sure, id rather not redo all the images in our office tho i'm hoping to find something else that would be easier...lol could be wishful htinking tho.
