Grid lines

What is the best way of putting grid lines (and coordinates) in my drawing,
assuming they are drawn in the correct place in the world?
In the past I have used KTF, but I don't have that option at the moment.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I just make an extra layer called grid and do a polar line starting at
an exact 100 metre point, make it an exact length to another 100metre
point past the edge of my work area, do the same from that point at
90 degrees and then offset them both by 100metres many times until I
have enough to cover the area I'm working with. Then I just add
dynamic labels for easting and northing.

That gives you a constant solid line grid. The other otion is crosses
at each 100m intersection of northing and easting where you just
construct a cross and then "array" them at 100m spacings.
