    OS.shx

you have to load up OS.shx, if its a drawing from another user ask them to email it over by doing a etranmit.
Shape files are normally kept in Support, depending on how your system is set up application data\autodesk\autoCAD\R9\enu\support.
do a search on your system for *shx files, you may already use it on another drawing.
