    Rendering - light question

    Hello everyone!

Is there a way to make the object, not shiny, but to shine light out
    it self?
    Like neon tube.
I have tried various combinations of object transparency and light
intensity but wasn't satisfied with the results. Also I had to place a
lot of point lights along the object, increasing rendering time
    significantly.

    Thanks in advance.

Try setting reflection to 0 and transparency to 1 for your material. Put a
light inside the solid. Render photo real or raytrace.
