    2000i file size huge

I have a dwg file that used to be appx. 100k. Somehow while editing it, it has grown to appx. 3.5MB. I did not add anything major to the file (e.g. blocks, fonts, hatches, etc.); just some lines and romans text. This file should not be this big for a few lines, text, and 3 viewports. I have tried several things to reduce the size of this file.

    THINGS THAT I HAVE TRIED:
1)Purgeall. When doing this, the file size becomes appx. 3.3MB.

1)WBlocking the drawing out to a new file. When doing this, the new file I created is now appx. 3.5MB.

2)Copying one entity via clipboard out to a new file, then saving to a new filename. When doing this, the new file becomes appx. 3.5MB. One entity in a dwg should not be 3.5MB, should it?

    I am out of options.

    Please Help.

Have you deleted all named layer filters, unreferenced APPID's, and anonymous groups?

    SuperPurge can help also.

I checked the layer filters and there are appx. 500+ filters (too many to count or delete 1by1). This could be the problem. Is there an easy way to delete ALL of these filters at once? I downloaded a trial version of "superpurge", but couldn't find a way to delete filters using this program.

Search these newsgroups. There is a lisp file that has appeared in many posts that will delete all named layer filters. I'm not sure 500 layer filters will cause a drawing to be 3MB. I delete ±8000 from drawings all the time and they go from about 1.5MB to 300k.

I found a lisp program to delete these filters and it WORKED! The file size went down to 160KB. Thank you everyone for your help!
