Network License for 1 seat of 3ds Max6? |
|
|
Hi, our company has 1 seat of 3ds Max 6. We would like to allow different users to use this program from time to time and want to avoid having to uninstall it from one machine just to have a different user be able to use it. My question is, is it possible to put that one seat on the network and have a user checkout that license when needed? Thanks for the help. -Paul

Certainly possible. We do that with VIZ. The kicker is that you will have to
pay a fee to have the stand alone license converted to a network license.
Then install FlexLM on the server or any machine you want to create a share
on for the license. You'll get a network license file from a'desk when you
register the product.

You can move the license with the Portable License Utility, without
uninstalling the software. Just launch the PLU and read its own Help file.
A walkthrough is here (for max 5):
http://www.discreet.com/support/max/faq/answer.php3?prod=dddstudio&id=483
More info is here (applies to max 6):
