Re: Problems Keeping Layers when Plotting to file for Adobe |

Plotfiles - EPS or anything else - are as flat as flat can be; no layer
information whatsoever. In Illustrator you can easily select all elements
with a certain color, so if you use one unique color per layer in AutoCAD,
you can reconstruct layers based on these colors in Illustrator.

| Quote: | Hi I'm trying to convert some .dwg 2-d elevations with a hatch layer for
shadows and some other layers to a format that will retain the layer |
information in Photoshop for rendering different sections. I'm plotting to
file from AutoCAD 2004 to eps format using the Adobe Postscript Level 2,
then trying to open that resulting .eps in Photoshop 7 and Illustrator 10.

in Photoshop, or when I open the same .eps in Illustrator it shows |
everything on 1 layer instead of the several that I had in the original CAD
dwg.

feature turned on or off that does not allow the eps when it opens in |
Photoshop to keep layer information.

Any help will be appreciated, thanks :) |
