I just bought AutoCAD 2004. I installed it on my PC running XP professional. When I clicked on the Desktop icon to start the Authorization process, I got an error message stating I had Licensing Error.

I then uninstalled it from that system and installed it on another system also running XP and I didn't get any errors when I clicked on the desktop icon.

I need to install it on the first system where I was getting the errors. I have tried to uninstall it and re-install it with the same result.

Has anyone else had the same problem? Can anyone help me with mine?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Regards,

Sudhir

Hi there

Try downloading and running RTS327000.exe from the Autodesk website which would make AutoCAD 2002 compatible with Windows XP

TeeVee, thanks for your prompt response, however I am using AutoCAD 2004. Does your solution apply to 2004 also?

Thanks

Sudhir

Check for Spyware and Viruses on that machine. More often that not, malware causes unexplainable licensing issues.

- Update your AntiVirus definitions and run a full scan.
- Install, update, and run Spybot Search & Destroy 1.3 (or 1.4 beta 2)
- Install, update, and run Microsoft AntiSpyware (beta 1)

Fix any problems.

If you are confident in making Windows/Registry changes, you should probably also remove any instances of that failed installation from the registry and from Program Files. Then check the startup to make sure nothing is running that could be a conflict with AutoCAD.

Reboot and try again.

Good luck with that!
