Importing SE file in 95 ? |
|
|
Hi,
Is there a way to open a Microstation SE file with Microstation 95?
I try to open a dgn and Microstation 95 diplays a "not a drawing file"
error.
That is the reason why I suspect the file to be in SE or higher
version.
The file contains only basic drawing elements: points as zero-length
lines.
Maybe with some hexadecimal editor I can change a few bytes in the dgn
to switch it to the 95 version...
Thanks for any solution other than buying SE or V8!

Hi,
normally you can open M.SE-files in M.95 without problems.
It seams to be a non correct DGN-FILE, check it with edg
...\ustation\edg\edg.exe
(Between Microstation J & Microstation V8 is a different Version of DGN-format)
best regards

Hi,
MicroStation SE introduced so called Enhanced Precision.
There is a special keyin to remove Enhanced Precision data from DGN as
some uStn 95 versions couldn't cope with it.
Unfortunately I forgot the name of this keyin, but some head scratching ought
to be left for the reader as an exercise, no? ;-)

Hi twice,
oh yes enhanched precision:
the special keyin names "precision delete all" or "precision delete fence"
by use a fence, but this command isn't M'95!
So you will, send me the dgn i'll try to get them out;-)
Here are all versions vailable M'95 -> V8.
