Hi,

Acad 200i,
Occasionally I have small excel information chart,
(e.g. elements, part included in project etc.) on one of the layout PS.
It shows on all other layouts as well - WHY???
While (dbl click to activate a model space), is not visible, but axes it the
chart rather than activating the MS.
Very annoying,
I understand I can make not selectable, but Why it exists on all Layouts as
(phantom object or ??)
Anything I am doing wrong.

If your chart is in model space (inside the viewport), it will show up in
all other viewports looking at the same space on your model.

Perhaps your chart need to be in paperspace, OVER the viewport and not
inside it.

I do have that chart in Paper Space!!,
To explain better,
In this Layout I don't have ANY VIEPORTS, just lines and text,
As soon as I paste an Excel chart onto this Layout, "goes to all other"
resides on ALL other layouts, in the same space / area - over other
vieports,
That is why, in other layouts, when I try to activate/ change to MS specific
viewport, (chart is not visible), I click on the "phantom chart" and
activate excel,
as I had mentioned not what I want it.

In Acad 2002 is the same
Just have a simple test

Have a drawings with at least 2 layouts,
insert an Excel chart into one, You will see the content in that layout
In other/s layout will not be visible, click approx. where the chart is and
will show the frame, dbl click and opens excel.
If you have 20 layouts and every one will contain different chart,
In result every layouts will have 1 chart display and 19 as "phantom" etc.
......can be a nightmare

Not an issue here: start a new file, insert a chart, post here for others to
review.

Perhaps my explanation was nor clear,
As you could see in both layouts we can axes both, charts,
imagine We could have 10, 20 layouts, every would have different chart, if
they were in similar location in PS, they would overlay,
never mind "at the bottom could be a viewport".
--How to activate this viewport, that is whole "under the chart"????? - and
so on

I have often 4 -5 charts and they create a mess in my drawings, because they
all, exists in all layouts.
If I have 20 layouts so there is like 20 copies of each chart

Hi Roman -

Would you change your discussion group sign on name away from
Autodesk so that no one will mistake you as posting from the
company?

Thanks!

Perhaps you did not check my repost of your file: it works if you just make
another copy.
Look at it again, try it on your end too, it seems to work fine.

Since I cannot replicate your issue with my files or your file, not sure
what else there is to talk about.
If you want to talk to Autodesk about it, you can:
http://support.autodesk.com and pick a pre-paid option or contact your
reseller.
