Hi,

I'm looking for a routine that will insert all drawings from a directory on a single sheet, creating something like a thumbnail overview.

Does anybody know of such a routine exists?

Yes, it does. The Block Catalog Generator in ToolPac 8.0 from
http://www.dotsoft.com builds ready to print sheets on multiple layout
tabs. Options for 6, 12, 24, 54, or 108 symbols per page. Results are
multiple layouts, its ready to plot (print) all sheets using AutoCAD.
