I'm using Microstation J. I have some hatched solids I'm using to
highlight portions of a floor plan. Now I need to cut some
rectangular holes from inside the patterned area. I know I can 'drop
status', but I'd really like to keep them associative because the
shapes of these areas are subject to change. I can use the 'modify
element' tool to stretch them. I've read the help file, and it
mentions using 'group holes', but I can't get it to work. Can someone
please tell me if this is the right/best way to do it, or if it isn't,
what is the best way to do it?
Thanks

Hi Marvin,
What you are seeing is the way things work in MicroStation J. So, you can
hatch group holes, but will not be able to modify the element and have the
hatch auto-adjust. This functionality is available in MicroStation V8.
Also, you may find Bentley's discussion groups of assistance. Over there you
can meet other users of Bentley products, exchange ideas, and discuss a wide
range of technical subjects. These groups are an excellent technical
resource for all users of Bentley products and services. Hope to see you
there!
