installation woes |
|
|
hi guys
windows getting corrupt on hard drive, bought new hard drive and I am
reinstalling everything there.
every time I bring up autocad I get the error message that it can't find
the dwg or a component. the file loads and it works, but this is most
annoying.
been through my options menu and everything looks good. support file path
names and such.
anybody have a favorite culprit to accuse?
I can still put the old hard drive back and write down very many settings
to see if I can see where things are installed differently, but I really
don't want to spend that kind of time.
thanks.

Why not creating a profile from the old hard-drive and load that into your
new one??
Is the easyest way.

tried it, no joy.
this may very well be a windows problem.
while I had the old hard drive back in I found a few files I had saved on
the desktop, so it was not a complete waste.
thanks.
any other bright ideas guys?

tried more stuff.
if I double click on a dwg file, I get the error. if I pull down the
file>open, no error message.
if I open Autocad with no file, the first file I open gets the error, then
I can get around it using the pull down menu to open subsequent files.
I did work out a file sharing problem in this process.
this is probably a windows annoyance.
I wonder if there is a group for file sharing problems with
Microsofffffffffffft? |
