Abbreviations |
|

Some time ago I found a list of abbreviations used for civil plans. Does anyone know of or where there is a list of them? I thought someone posted here, but I cannot find anything.

Joe,
I am also not trying to be picky. I am sincerely just trying to be helpful. I found some more typos in the list and offer the following corrections for your consideration. Some of them I made assumptions about as to the actual intent. I could be wrong. The corrections are listed below the originals. I hope this helps.

Yes, I admit it. I am a "spelloholic." Just ask my wife. Yes, I do write
specs. and I actually enjoy it! There, I said it. ;-)

Re: Abbreviations |

| That make two of us! Assume the "R.A." refers to architect? Are you also certified by the Construction Specifications Institute? Pay the fee, pass the exam and you can add some more initials after your name. Worth looking in to. Go to csinet.org for more info on certification programs. |

Yes, in New York State an architect has to be registered, in addition to
being licensed. R.A. refers to "Registered Architect." I am not currently
CSI, nor AIA, but may be joining again shortly (more initials).

I agree with all your suggested corrections save one. Show me the "g" in manufacture or manufacturer. I submit that MFG is short for manufacturing and MFR is short for manufacture or manufacturer. |

Yes, I agree also. I was suggesting that the abbreviation MFG was perhaps
incorrect. Maybe not.
