I didn't know where to turn to or whom to ask this question, so any help I get WILL be appreciated!
I've inherited (i.e., free) a 1994 model SummaJet 2C 1336C plotter that I KNOW works on a Windows 98 SE platform, using AutoCAD Release R13...now here's my problem: I have a Windows XP Home Edition platform that I use with AutoCAD Release 2000 with LDD and I've tried to get this plotter to work with my system, but I can't get the blasted thing to perform! I've tried different emulations (HPGL, HPGL/2, DMPL), I've got all the old and new drivers available (I think), I've tried both parallel port (LPT1) cables AND Serial port (COM1) connections; I've tried to AutoCAD's Plotter Manager interface AND Windows XP Add-A-Printer interface, yet to no avail...mainly what I get is a slow parsing build-up on the plotter, then the inevitable "plotter out of memory" error...I thought that finding a larger SIMM memory module might help (it has a 2 MB module in it, and a 16 mb module USED to be available...good luck finding one!), but the plotter worked perfectly with the 2MB module it has in it right now, when I used to use ACAD R13 on the Windows 98 SE O/S and I can't seem to figure this out!
I know, I know...some will tell me to throw the dinosaur out and buy a newer HP model, but I can't argue with FREE and I don't have a lot of spare cash to lay on another plotter...so, if anyone out there can help me, I sure would be VERY, VERY appreciative!
Thanks,
Rob

Well, maybe I'm stating the obvious, but have you tried to set it to spool
in your computer, rather than using the plotter memory? That may solve your
problem right there.

Well.....DUH! Guess what, Dennis....THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT WAS WRONG! I don't know why it never occured to me to spool my plots, but you 'obvious tip' was JUST what I needed!
The dinosaur lives (and plots) again!
I LOVE YOU, MAN!

Again, thanks Dennis!

Not a problem, I'm a pro at stating the obvious. ;)

What drivers did you happen to use?

I have the SummaJet 1336C and i can't get it to work under AutoCAD 2k or windows for that matter. all i have is win95 drivers.

Thanks,
Chris
