DO U HAVE ANY BRIGHT IDEAS 4 THIS PROBLEM??? |
|
|
Guys i have a situational problem here:
My boss asked me to make a 3D of an "as-built" room in the company with pipes, tanks, motors, etc. Fortunately i was able to finish my job.
Just recently he asked me to do a front, top, right-side view of my work including "dimensions".
In the Layout tab i was able to make 3 viewport of my project using SOLVIEW and 2D-replicas of the said views using SOLDRAW.
HERE'S MY PROBLEM....
I was not satisfied with the SOLDRAW's result because it captured even the isolines, and those which are supposed to be hidden.
What i needed was to generate views is a HIDE mode. In this manner the 2D drawings would not be crowded with much lines, etc.
NOTE: the views that I want to generate is that...
1) In the Model Space of the Layout tab, I set the DISPSILH=1.
2) After that I invoked HIDE command.
3) Then It generated the IMAGE that i wanted. No isolines, no facetres, etc.
But the problem it's not on 2D.
I wanted to make that HIDE mode into a 2D view so i can "easily" make dimensions, as my boss wanted it to be.
PLEASE DO HELP ME... I NEED IT BADLY. ;-(

| Can't you just select the viewport in papersapce and have it's shadeplot properties set to "Hidden"? |

Hi handy,
I'm your dandy, here to the rescue. Use SOLPROF! It will create two layers, one of the visible lines and one of the hidden. Two separate layers, everything already separated for you.

I've done SOLPROF also. Yes it did cretae a separate layer for the hidden lines but.... still hidden lines are visible.
What I'm after is the "effect" when you set DISPSILH=1 then HIDE command... This is what i need to have in my VIEWPORTS in my Layout tab. Because if this would materialize, only then i can dimension all the 3 views.
Any other suggerstions aside from SOLVIEW, SOLDRAW, and SOLPROF??? =( |

the suggested below by SkintSubby I believe is what you are looking for. I
will not appear while dimension but place a few dimension and do a plot
preview it should look the same as doing a hide view while in model space
with Dispsilh set to 1

Have a look at the quickdraw demo in AutoSolids www.autosolids.com
If you don't use any other features of the programme, that one alone will
save you hours.

Handrasp,
When you're in layout mode, select the viewport and set the shademode properties to "hidden" as I mentioned earlier.
It won't look any different on your screen, but when you do a plot or plot preview it will show as per a hidden view. I assume that is what you are after?? If not can you elaborate a bit more on what you require? |

Gotta help you some more here boy.

Let me tell ya, the visible layer created by SOLPROF does exactly what you want. It looks like >when you set DISPSILH=1 then HIDE command...< and it's on ITS VERY OWN LAYER. Hint, wink, nod!
So may I suggest that you;
1) freeze the hidden layer -or-
2) delete the hidden layer -or-
3) shot your computer -or-
4) shot your foot -or-
5) get s'more AutoCAD time under yer belt
