Hi everyone, we are doing a lot onscreen digitising at the moment. Why
does Microstation has no Auto Panning tool? I remember that someone
developed a free automatic panning tool for v7 or earlier but I could
not find it anymore. Anyone remember that tool?
thanks in advance

Hi,

Use keyin: set autopan on|off|toggle

Make sure that your cursor is in a view before you start the keyin.
That will keep the screen *centered* on your cursor.

Hi Chris,
The problem with that command is that the screen keeps on moving. The
user will get dizzy before he finish his work. The screen should move
when the cursur is somewhere near the edge or something like that.

thanks.

Hi,

U can use Shit+Data button holding down and moving in the direction u
want to move, faster u move ur mouse, the pan will be faster.

U need to use this while doing onscreen digitising!

Hi,

I have been using the shift+data mouse for digitising. what i was
looking for is a more automated tool to place the cursur point at the
middle of the screen when it reaches the edge of the window. Someone
told me that Descartes has an F5 function.

I thought that this would be a simple tool but since MSSE up to V8 no
such tool has been developed within Microstation. To think that MS is
widely used for onscreen digitising purposes.

Hi,

You are right, but Descartes is the right tool for doing headup
digitising, it has lot of automated process!
