Importing Autocad 2000/2004 files with Microstation SE ? ( |

Phil, Benny, Alan and Bill,
Thanks to you for your advices about the way to import 2000/2004 files
into Microstation SE.
Phil, I had the opportunity to see some test version of Microstation
V8, but my idea here is clearly to import Autocad 2000/2004 files into
the SE version of Microstation.
Benny suggested to use Autocad and convert the file to some older
version.
This is what I have done until now, but this assumes that the computer
is also equiped by some recent Autocad version. Expensive solution!
I often saved as DXF R12, but when receiving wide files from
architects with many hatches, this generates huge DXFs that are not
accepted by the Microstation Import tool. I also encounter problems
with some Autocad cells (blocks) and Microstation does not respond.
Alan suggested TurboCAD Pro, which is about 200$.
I was looking for cheaper, and maybe free tool.
Bill pointed me to
http://www.dirfile.com/freeware/autocad.htm
It looks a good website for Autocad ressources. Thanks.
There, I found a link to a freeware named "CAD Version Converter"
(cadver.exe) which would respond my needs.
Unfortunately the download site of the author, "ACAD systems",
www.acadsee.com is no more available.
Does someone know a mirror site for downloading the tool of some
altenative cheep Autocad-200x -> Microstation SE converter ?
Thanks in advance.
