Fatal error while panning, zooming or moving... |
|
|
I have a 6 month old Dell with XP running AutoCAD 2000. My predecessor didn't seem to have this problem, but boy I sure do.
Unhandled Access Violation 0x0000 exception 3400405bh
Usually happens when panning or zooming, but has happend using the move command. I have searched all over and have found nothing. It will completely lock me out of a drawing and I'll have to open it on a different machine, however it doesn't always work that nicely, of which I take it home and open it up on 2002.
I have read on the AutoDesk forum that it's a video driver/card problem.... maybe. Of which I have tried every setting in the book.
My understanding for some of it is that 2000 and XP don't get along, but that doesn't explain why my predecessor did not have the problem. Of which is making me look bad in some eyes.
Any help would be appreciated.

You seem to not have tried updated video card drivers, or turning off video
card hardware acceleration in Windows in your post.

I found something interesting... I happen to use "wipeout" and my predicessor did not. So I made a test file with a circle arrayed 34,767 times and a wipeout entity arrayed 1,000 times around it. It does not crash, no mater how many times I pan.
The Theory:
Does AutoCAD 2000 have a problem with down-saved files from a newer version? The files that have crashed have imported site plans from an architect.
