List.
Could someone clue me in how to set dialog boxes such as XREF to list the
drawings in LIST view with DETAILS, as opposed to the ICONS that keep
showing up each time I do this.
Is this an Option or buried somewhere that I have forgotten?
Much Thanks,
Jonathan

Set CMDDIA to 1
While you are at it make sure FILEDIA is set to 1 and ATTDIA is also set to

Hi Tracy.
I changed ATTDIA to 1 but both CMDDIA and FILEDIA were already set at 1. For
some reason even after a restart the dialog boxes still seem to come up with
the damn icons instead of a LIST. Wicked pain in the arse.
What were the ATTDIA, CMDDIA and FILEDIA again? And is there some other
location for this in XP?

You're using WinXP? Your only fix is AutoCAD R2005. Nothing else works.

Sorry Jonathan, I misread your original post thinking you were only getting
the command line vs. a dialog box. You might try and look at QuikPik:

Remember file list state is one of it's features... FWIW AutoCAD 2004 & 2005
stay set to Detail.

Tracy, Dean.
Thanks. huh. I never had trouble with this in the past on WIN 98.
Am I to understand that 2000 is unable to list drawings as a LIST and not as
ICONS on a WINXP system, whereas it was able to do it in WIN98? Are there
other funky things that I am going to run into that happen to 2000 in XP?
Thanks,
Jonathan

R2000 is not supported in WinXP, Autodesk plans to issue no fix ever.
WinXP is not Win98 (thank god): topic comes up often, a search here will
show you some workarounds that work for some folks but not all.

Mine sorts as list, but it won't stick on details. I have to continually hit
details.
