Recently we aquired a sokkia IPAQ device to take GPS survey with. The program IMAP has been running great on my system, ( CAD 2000./ win 98). It is the software used to download survey from the IPAQ unit and DXF it out to later be brought in to AutoCAD. So anyhow, thing were going great, until the other day I down load survey, and wrote to DXF file, now when I bring in the dxf file all the attributes are on top of eachother, the points are there but the survey file is not in the correct location and they are also spaced not to acutal scale. I have the file set up UCS World, same as before.

Does anybody have any ideas about this one.

I'm not very familiar with any gps survey equipment or sokkia's
software, but have you checked all your IMAP & IPAQ settings? Do you have a
scale factor wrong? A false Northing? The wrong Geoid? A bad base point?
You might also check to see if there is a template file that IMAP uses to
write the dxf files. I've had SurvCAD screw up my imported coordinates
because the block file it uses as a template was changed.
