Re: batch plot wont run. |

Are you absolutely sure that you have the correct share name of your
printer- there are
two flovours- on works, the other doesnt.
Have youdouble checked the batch lot log
Do you get the "X plots successful" at the bottom of the screen.
Open up the printer dialog box as you run batch plot. You are using UNC
(basic DOS)
to communicate with your plotter so Windows does not understand or control
whats is happening,
It will however list the job as a "Remote Download Document"
If you do not see anything happening, then redirect the output to a file and
see if anything
is being produced. You may be creating a file with nothing in it. In which
case everything
is working in that you are printing nothing (Although I might expect a form
feed at the end of the
job)
If you do create a file see how big it is, and then either edit in wordpad
(Not Notepad- it will crash)
or drop it into an HPGL2 reader- there are plenty of demos out there.
If you do get an output, then try sending it to your printer with a DOS
command.
Goto ASKINGA.com ther is a badly written article on everything I know about
plot files.

I call batch plot and select a list of files and the appropriate plotter
and
hit the plot button. Batch plot hums away making plotfiles but nothing
comes
out of the plotter. So what could the problem possibly be? I suspect that
a
bad environment variable may be at the root of it. Any suggestions?
