Vias not extracting |
|
|
Hi, I'm doing LVS and when I extract my layout, the vias are not in the
extracted view. Actually, vias which I draw by hand have disappeared, but
via instances, such as the vias you get when creating a path and switching
metal layers, do make it to the extracted view.
Is there any obvious reason this could be happening, or is it likely the
extraction rules are somehow screwed up?
Thanks,
Marc

Which tool are you using? It sounds like Assura since you talk about LVS
as including extraction, which in Diva is a separate process. More basic
information in your question would help provide a meaningful response:
tool, modes, options.....
In Diva, the extracted view would have only the recognized devices from
the extractDevice rules, unless your rule deck has saveInterconnect,
saveDerived, or copyGraphics rules. What you describe, the via cells
being in the extracted view, sounds like you might be doing a macrocell
extraction and the vias are marked as "macro". Drawn vias would
disappear unless the rules tell Diva to save them.

I accidentally used the 'by' layer instead of the 'dg'. Case closed!
