I just purchased an Avaratek laptop and was trying to run wildfire 2.0
Center lines and construction lines appear same as geometry.
It has probably to do with the video card.
Is there any way to change the color of these lines
so they will look different from geometry.
I tried to decelerate the video card, the lines worked but everything else
became sluggish.
Appreciate any help.
Thanks
Harry

Harry, you need to acquaint yourself with another of those quirky, oddball
configuration 'interfaces' of Pro/e. It's located (in WF1) in 'View>Display
settings>System colors'. From here, you can create or load a system colors file
(with an extension of .scl ~ just an ascii file with a bunch of numbers for
different settings). To create a file, save the current settings to a file
(default name is SYSCOL.SCL). But, unlike a Windows program, it neither saves nor
loads automatically. In config.pro, you need to find an option called
system_colors_file and browse to the location of your SYSCOL.SCL and select it.

When this file is loaded, you can edit it by picking a tabbed page that
corresponds to the type of color you wish to change. If you don't like the colors
of geometry display or the way datums display or even the way text displays, you
can change it here. I'm not sure what governs centerline color. In sketcher, it
should appear as a dashed line, though possibly the same color as geometry. One
way or the other, it should be distinguishable from geometry.

I did all you said.
But it seems that in sketcher the geometry colors and centerlines
have the same color designation.
The only difference is that center lines are represeted as dashes and
dots and my video card does not display it.
My question is - Can you have IN SKETCHER assigned differenr colors to
geometry , centerlines and construction circles?

I believe all Sketcher curves are controlled by the Preview Geometry sys
col setting. Think I'd try working with the laptop graphics card / driver
vendor on the line type issue.

Harry -

Do any of your config.pro's contain the option "section_color"? If so,
try removing it.

The mere presence of this option, regardless of setting, causes WF1 to
use a single color for all sketcher geometry and dimensions. Bizarre.

HTH,
Wallace
