Converting JPG to AutoCad and 3D |
|
|
Hi all. I'm in a tight corner with a building project that I hope you can help with.
I've created a design for a wooden, single-story building, and drawn each aspect of it (wall units, floor joist units, uprights, etc) on the whole to joint scale as about 20 JPG/PSD files. The design has just been accepted, and now a test model is going to be produced, first as a CAD design, then a 3D model, from which the full-sized building will be constructed.
The company concerned has priced this conversion very, very highly, so I'd like to reduce the amount of work they have to do. I now need to convert my files to CAD, then something that can be used say in 3D Max or similar, but Ihave no experience whatsoever in this field, and don't have time to learn the appropriate software with a deadline looming. I've seen - allegedly - 'easy' software packages that offer conversion of files in this way (inlcuding an excellent bit of kit that seems to convert JPGs to a flat spline model that could then be extruded to 3D very easily), but it's beyond what I can get into at present.
Has any member a relatively easy solution to this problem? Would anyone here want to posit a price for this kind of work - or even be in a position to take it on themselves? It's not a vast piece of work, and the basic construction units are extremely few and simple.
Any suggestions?
TIA,
