I need to open a Tiff image of an autocad drawing in photoshop. It
seems like plotting to file as a tiff is the way to go, but i can't
seem to get this resulting tiff image in colour - its always black
and white and the gray hatch that i have made becomes black?!!

Any ideas?

The compressed Tiff raster driver uses CCITT G4 compression which only
supports B/W

Use the uncompressed Tiff raster driver which includes color as an
option. Yes, it will make a huge file, but I was able to open this TIF
in IrfanView and saveit with LZW compression and the file size dropped
by 1/40

Alternatively, you might be able to find an LZW compression TIF raster
driver to save the extra step. i.e.:

You might try printing it as a .pdf file.

Much clearer image.

If you don't have a pdf printer, try CutePDF. Free
