FlexLM 8.3 - Acad2002 and 2004 |
|
|
Has anyone had success setting up the 2004 licensing (FlexLM 8.3c) on a
Windows NT box running service pack 6a serving both 2002 and 2004
product licenses. I am unable to access either the 2002 or 2004
licenses after upgrading with the files combined. Then I removed the
2002 entries from the license file and tried to start Autocad 2004 on a
client machine and it won't hit the LM either.
I stopped and removed the service before installing the new version of
FlexLM and I don't receive any errors upon starting the service.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the 2002 FlexLM version and it works
fine.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

Any clues or error messages in the log file or if you run a status enquiry?

Thats the strange part, everything within the log looks normal. But there are
no entries in the log showing a workstation trying to access a license. The
typical error comes up on the workstation requiring you to select a server or
license file. I have tired it by workstation name and ip address, and I can
ping the LM from the client machine without any problems. I know from the
System Requirements that it is supposed to work properly on NT but I"m really
starting to wonder.

Monte,
if you dismiss that dialog which prompts you for the server name, what error
message do you get?

Efim

Error[1.5.-16]. Thinking that it might have been NT related I set the 2004
versions up on a Windows 2000 workstation and am now experiencing the same
problem for the 2004 versions. I have been using the Autocad 2004 cd to do the
install each time. This wouldn't be the first time that I have run into a cd
that has had problems. I wonder if it would be worth trying to install the
license manager from my Land Desktop cd.

Thanks for the help all, however I'm an idiot and I'll admit it. We had the following
variable being set on each machine: FLEXLM_COMM_TRANSPORT=UDP. I completely forgot
about it. Good thing it's Friday.
