using 2 monitors |
|
|
I recently started a new job.. The staition I was asigned has 2 monitors.. I
can stretch one drawing over the 2 screens, but I'm told you can work on 2
drawings at once and copy and paste from one screen to the other... HOW????
Can somebody point me in the direction of some user info for this?

Try Alternate DeskJet Printer Drivers on HP's web site. HP 550C might work.
LOOK FOR A SOFTWARE PACKAGE CALLED ULTRAMON.

Just a guess...
What if you open 2 instances of AutoCAD, move one of them to another
screen...?
I did not completely understand why would you need that. why not just
to use ctrl+tab to swich between drawings to copy and paste from one
to the other?
Have to mention that I've never been working on such a station, with
two monitors. |

duel monitors |

| I run a CRT and an LCD side by side. I have one session of Cad stretched across both screens. I take one drawing and stretch is across half my viewing area, and another drawing across the other half. Which ever drawing you click in is the active drawing. Simple as pie. I love it. |

You can have one open as a reference (for example, a scanned-in rough sketch on screen, or another drawing open). Much faster and easier than using alt+tab.
Plus, you can copy and paste from one file to another. just like any other windows-based right-click copy and paste operation.
What I've used the dual monitor setup for is to pull dimensions off of a cmplex AutoCAD 2-D drawing, while recreating it in 3D |
