Greetings

Using XP Pro SP2 with AutoCAD LT 2002 and HP Designjet 430.

When I go to print from within AutoCAD, the print (plotting interface) takes
a very long time to find the printer. When you eventually get the printer up
on screen, performance is OK.

It can typically take 30-40 seconds to display the printer on screen.

I have downloaded and installed the latest HP drivers for the 430 for
AutoCAD, off the HP web site.

Depending on the configuration of the workstation and the size of the
file being printed this may be completely normal.

If speed is a concern for you, then you might want to consider a
dedicated workstation workhorse such as a dual processor workstation
with at least 2gb ram and a fast access time hard drive this will
reduce your spool time to your print spooler and things will move
faster, note such a workstation is expensive and such should be weighed
out in the decision.
