Hello,
I have a license that was imported onto a computer whose operating system then crashed. We have installed another OS to try to retrieve the license, I've located the file, but obviously since the PLU has not been installed on this OS I cannot run the utility to export it again.
Should I:
1) re-install 3dsmax (yes I'm talking about max again)
2) just install the PLU (is this possible?)
3) use my magic 'make it good' script to literally, make it all good again
4) none of the above

Josh,

If you have max 5, be careful not to modify the hidden folder C:\C_DILLA,
where your license is stored. For example, don't reformat your hard disk,
or restore an old image.

Reinstalling either the OS or max won't affect your license (as long as you
don't modify the license files). Reinstall max, and let us know what
message comes up when you launch it.
