Plot Preview causes Freeze |
|
|
Some network users are reporting that ACAD freezes when trying to plot to our HP1050C's. All who report this problem have a Dell OptiPlex GX150 computer. Processor 1GHZ (Fiber Channel), >256 MB Ram, 16MB-TNT2 Graphics Card, functioning in a Windows 2000 (service pack 4) environment. Note that this is when PLOT PREVIEW is selected. Preview screen is generated, and drawing displayed, but no cursor is visible. Ctrl+Alt+Del does not work and a hard boot is required. Users are able to plot if they do not select the plot preview screen. Anybody have a similar problem?

I have the same problem in 2k4 with som of my files, but thats usually when
they are huge, or have allot of raster images. If you are patient and you
have enough memory in your computer, it "usually" but not always catches up
with itself.

R2005,Win2000: 256MB Ram is on the low end and may be cuasing a lot of it.
Patience and waiting is probably the solution for you.
As a test: PAGESETUP command, set the plot parameters, then start PLOT
command and preview, still lock up? How long can you wait to see if it's
your low RAM that you are waiting on?
