Printing to pdf locks-up AutoCAD |
|
|
When I select Acrobat PDFwritier printer through AutoCAD 2005, with a custom large scale page set-up defined AutoCAD locks-up in the printing process. I have printed the same drawing as an 11x17 pdf without any problem and have printed the same drawing out of MicroStation V8 as a 24x36 pdf but when I try to print the drawing out of AutoCAD as a 24x36 pdf AutoCAD locks-up. Anybody aware of a driver conflict for 2005? Or anything else that would make AutoCAD die with Custom large scale sizes defined by PDF writer?

Worth asking Adobe's support or discussion areas about that question:
problem does not exist with other PDF creation tools NOT made by Adobe:
http://www.cutepdf.com (check out the freebie that works with all Windows
apps).

Try Adobe Distiller. Also what version of Adobe Acrobat do you have?
THere might be a patch at Adobe's site?
Ciao!

We've been using PDF995, in the suite version for some time now and have had no problems with it.
My 2 cents worth,

Having problems also with Acrobat 7 Pro. Map 2005 is locking up if PDF Maker
settings "Optimize PDF" is checked, and under Advanced if "Optimize for Fast
Web View" is checked. Also have to disable Windows Security in "Tiny
Personal Firewall". With this done I can get it to plot but slowly in my
opinion, suspiciously like something else is not right.
Aside: Yes I would prefer to use other software to make PDF's but have to
since the agencies I deal with require it. It would be great if someone
would get their act together regarding PDF and review. DWF composer should
be free ... hard to ask clients to shell out $100~$200 each to review and
markup when Adobe offers it for free. Unfortunaltely the Adobe stuff is not
that easy to work with. |
