Just wondering what the possibilities are.

Is it possible to create a right-click menu that would show options
based on the entities layer? block inserts, text styles etc that would
be unique to that specific layer. As it is now it seems the menu is
mostly based the entity type.

My tempered guess is no. Although I couldn't imagine what would happen if
you commented out all of the related portions of the acad menu and just see
what happens. (I'm kidding don't try this at home...or anywhere else unless
you know what you are doing) On the other hand I have functions that are
activated by a Ctrl+Right click when "hovering" over an object and yes it is
based on entity type. But I have the ability to filter for all types of
entities as well as layers of items...so for example I can get text items
and have a cursor menu appear that is specific to text (similar to current
right click behaviour) but then I can get a different cursor menu to appear
based on the layer of other text that I hover over...so two Text menus based
on reading the layer of the underlying text entity. So It would be very
simple to have a whole slew of menus based on the entity selected as well as
its layer. And this leaves the standard right click working as usual.....
but for ideas look in to grread and nentselp ie

then you need to create your own menus based on the entities layer
