Plotting some not all dwgs slow |

I have a set of drawings with a border from an architect who is insisting that we use his fonts. Using Building systems 2004. When i plot in paperspace to my Oce TDS600 (I have two) it starts sending stops and says "Please wait formatting text" will sit there for 4 or 5 minutes then will go to plotter and plot ok.
If I turn textfill off plots fast.
If i change all fonts to simplex plots fast.
I have the latest service pack for acad(2004) I have the latest updates and drivers for the Oce TDS600's. This problem happens with these drawings on any machine on my network... all machines are at least p4 2.5mhz with 40 gig hard drives and xp pro with latest sp and updates loaded.
All other drawings for other jobs plot fine only these drawings with this perticular border are slow. And of course there are a couple hundred drawings for this perticular job so 5 minutes a pop is an issue.
I belive it has something to do with the text font in the border... I have gotten the shx files that the architect used and still plots slow.
Anyone have any suggestions or comments.
I can not substitue with simplex architect will not alow it...
