I have an HP1055cm Plus and run Autocad 2005. I would like to have the border closer to the edge of the paper; smaller margin. How is this done???
I have looked in the book Mastering Autocad2004, it states that the plotters "hard clip limits" need to be changed.
I have tried looking in the manual for the plotter, but I can't seem to find an answer. If somebody can please point me in the right direction, it would really start my week off well.

Thanks much in advance,

Mike

Your answer may be in the driver settings for your plotter, make sure you
are using the latest drivers from HP, and in the properties you should see a
checkbox for "small margins", this will reduce the size of the margins. Not
all papers may work with reduced margins, on the plotter itself; on my
plotter I also have to make sure that it thinks it's using bright white
injet paper or film. Yours may have a similar setting. To get mine to
work, I also had to upgrade the plotter's firmware, also something to check,
while your checking your drivers.

This HP margin stuff is nuts. Like you said it depends on the paper type,
how stupid is that. On my HP 800PS I MUST set the paper type to coated paper
to get the smaller margins. If somebody resets it to vellum the plots get
all screwed up.

You should look in your manual for Margins, Normal or Extended. I have a
1050 & there are side minimums (5 mm - 15 mm) Leading edge (10 mm) &
Trailing edge (10- 15 mm). These variables represent SHEET or ROLL, Normal
or Extended setup.

You may find it is much less of a headache to play the hand you are dealt
rather than try to "fix" things. Playing with margins always seems to be a
can of worms, as the other answers hint at.
