Somebody gimme the "in a nutshell" version vs. plotter w/o PS...

I know I won't need it just plotting black line drawings, but would it help
in printing full color images?

Take PS if you plan to print from 'graphic arts' applications (say
posters) - but even then I would prefer a separate PostScript RIP. I see
no advantages for use with AutoCAD.
