plotter comparisons |

Has anyone ever run across a "consumer reports" for large format LED
printers comparing in particular XEROX, OCE and KIP?
Looking to compare things like consumer satisfaction, print quality, ability
to do what is needed, down time, etc.
Thanks

I've never used an OCE, but there's no comparison between the Xerox and KIP.
The KIP quality is extremely superior to the Xerox.

Last year I ran a side by side comparison with a Kip 6000 and an Oce TDS600. Hooked about 20 users up to both and took their temperature after about 3 weeks. I couldn't tell much difference in plot quality between the two. ReproDesk on the other hand I really didn't care for. Configuring the plotter was really complicated. In the end we decided on three Kip 6000's and haven't looked back.

| We have our second KIP. Newest is an 8000 and it is great. The KIP software is easy to use and has many features. We priced/compared to Xerox and the service was just too high on the Xerox. Also I didn't like the Xerox printing software. |

Yes, that's another valid point. The Xerox submittal tool is extremely slow
to connect, and is not very user friendly to use.
Kip's software, however, is user friendly and fast.

Thank you all for your input.
We have actually chosen to go with a couple Oce TDS600's.
Probably due in part to name recognition and the fact that all the outside
firms that we work with have been using Oce's. I'm sure there are pro's and
con's to each brand and of course I have vendors here in town that swear by
whatever brand they happen to sell. I truly hope that Oce doesn't let us
down. If they do it sounds like KIP is worth looking into. I've heard many
negatives about Xerox. Especially the constant need for service.
Anyway thanks again.
