I have an ACAD file with several raster images (topographic map) as background. When I print it to PDF with Adobe Distiller, the resulting .pdf file is almost useless. It seems to be layered (like the raster images in ACAD) and each of the "raster layers" takes ages to load even though the .pdf file isn't large at all.
What am I doing wrong??

I think there process (and several of the other PDF Drivers) actually break
the image down into graphics primatives instead of leaving it as an image.
Try our AcroPlot software from www.cadzation.com or the PDF-XChange 3.0
driver from www.docu-track.com and they should both handle it. It may take
a bit longer to convert but it will open up much faster. We had a customer
who said it went from minutes to seconds when it came to redisplaying a
large raster image. Or if you want etransmit it over to me (as long as it's
under 5 MB) and I'll run it for you.
