Does anyone know where you can download the electronic version of the
Service manual for the Designjet 500?

I need to replace a carriage belt that I got from HP Parts Direct and the
instructions say to refer to Service manual on several tasks (Like
performing the Service Utility "Unlock Carriage")

Thanks all, but I managed to download it from HP's CSN site. The tech who
helped me this morning was helpful in giving me a username and password to
enter it.

It is and Adobe Acrobat file. Zipped to the Best Compression, it is 3.55
Mb. What is your mail size limit? and where to mail to?

The full service manual is 45 Mb. I can RAR the file down in sections
depending upon your file size limit if you have WinRAR. If not, I can make
it a self extracting file. My file size limit is 10 Mb per email on my
Hotmail Account. Does your email server handle files of that size?

I can handle 10Mb my end, though an executable file will probably get blocked by our firewall as a matter of policy
I have recieved the first section ok, though I did get a message saying an executeable had been stopped too
