I have a network user trying to install 2005. I'm getting this in my installation log file:
16:06:00 03/23/2005 MTAYLOR\taylorw .NET Framework installation failed (1601). See dotnet.log for details. <MSI engine return code: -1>
16:06:37 03/23/2005 MTAYLOR\taylorw Unknown deployment error. Check MSI log in %TEMP% folder on client workstation. [AutoCAD 2005] <MSI engine return code: 1601>

I have him currently checking the usual things, space on hard drive, IE version, etc. Anyone have any other ideas?

Thanks for your help!
Lori

Looks like .NET framework didn't install.
Go to windows update site and install .NET and the service packs for .NET and you should be good to go.

Thanks for the assistance! I've passed the information along to the user.

Is there any way to check your machine to find out what version of .NET you're running? I'd like to build this into the installation instructions so we won't have this problem in the future.

Regards,
Lori
