I've got a client that recently upgraded all their PCs from Win98 to WinXP Pro. Since this change, they are able to plot just fine to their Oce TDS600, but when they print to their HP 4MV, then their line weights are all wrong. Since only the desktops changed, is this a font issue or something else? I'm not very familiar with the Autocad 2004 product. Thanks for the help.

You changed OS and drivers: that is considered a significant change, not
just a 'desktop' swap.

Lineweights can be fixed: get an AutoCAD user to rewrite their plot style
tables for you after testing and confirming what they need.

Ok, but I went through the lists of included fonts for both Win98SE and WinXP Pro and did not see any significant differences. The printer is shared off of their server, but, yes, it would be used a WinXP as opposed to Win98 driver.

And the user will know what I mean when I ask him to do that? All the info that the user has given me is "our line weights are messed up." I'm supporting this user remotely so that adds a little difficulty.

Line weights and fonts are too different topics in AutoCAD: it's a drafting
tool, not a word processor.
Do you have a point person for AutoCAD setup? That's the person you ask to
fix the problem. If that's you, consider hiring an outside consultant.

Does your client use .ctb or .stb plot style tables? We use .ctb (color dependent line weight definitions. We had to create separate .ctb plot styles for our 4MV. The plot style table for our HP1050 produced lines that were generally too heavy for the 4MV plots. We simply redefined the line weghts in the HP1050 .ctb file and saved is as HP04MV.ctb.

Thanks for the suggestion, Rick.

I'll try to gather some more info from the lead user.
