HP 500 Print Problem |
|
|
I can not print in AutoCAD 2005, but other programs like Word and Print Test
Page work fine.
I just recently rebuilt my system (HDD format, reload Windows XP, Programs
etc) and I am using the latest drivers and firmware from the HP support
site.
When I send a plot from AutoCAD I am getting a System Error 79:04 on the
plotter that says it has powered down. I searched HP support and this
relates to a firmware error. However, it only happens with AutoCAD!
Driver Name: hpltdrv7.dll
Driver version: 6.03
Any help would be greatly appreciated

You need to contact HP support about their firmware error and how to resolve
it: or did they direct you here?
Also, are you plotting through a PC3 file? If yes, what would happen if you
plot to the system driver like WORD and Test print do?

What about the rest of my first post? So far you provide very little detail
for other to replicate.

No, I want you to SKIP the PC3 file and plot to the same driver WORD and
'all the other programs' print fine to: that's the point, only AutoCAD is
using your PC3 file.
Don't make a new one, don't make one at all, just PLOT to the system driver
all the other programs seem to do just fine with... . That is what HP
support is going to help you with, THEIR system driver and THEIR plotter.
Stay away from PC3 files until your issue is resolved.
Did I happen to mention I want you to test without a PC3 file?

The firmware works with other software, and has printed previously with
AutoCAD. AutoCAD is the only program that is giving the error. Word
prints, test page prints, everything but AutoCAD.

Since the plotter is working properly with other programs, it seems like
AutoCAD group would be the best place to find assistance with an AutoCAD
printing problem.

Yes, I am using a PC3 File. Have even tried creating a new PC3 just in case
the other was corrupt.

As stated in my first post, Word files and the Test Print page are just
fine. AutoCAD is the only program with problems.
If this helps any, Plotting to my HP 1220C (B size 11x17) works just fine.
The only problem is with the Designjet 500.
Anything else I can tell you?

Thank you for your effort to enlighten me. I didn't quite understand what
you were saying. But you were right. It was printing through the system
driver. The problem was not the firmware. The problem was with the new HP
Drivers conflicting with the old PC3 files. I had to recreate the PC3 files
and everything is working fine now.
Again, Thanks. And did I mention, Thanks! ;)
