I'm trying to "Convert to PDF" and cannot get the plot to position correctly
on the page. In Page-Setup I can "PLOT" the PDF perfectly, but the "Convert
to PDF" button does not work. We need the "Convert to PDF" option because
it is the only way I know to get the TEXT to go into the PDF. Plotting the
PDF only produces a picture with no text entities in the PDF. I've tried
all the properties and settings that I can think of in both windows and
autocad and cannot get this to work Anyone have any ideas?

What version of AutoCAD? Using what converter? Is the text in
modelspace or paperspace? Where are you seeing a "Convert to PDF" button?

We use PDF995 and have no problems with text (modelspace only drawings).

Are you using Adobe Acrobat? AutoCAD version? Your post lack relevant
details.

Have you considered asking Adobe Support the question? AutoCAD does not come
with a PDF creator, only a DWF creator.

Most of us use simpler better PDF printer drivers that do not have these
issues.

PDF995 does not produce the quality that Acrobat does. Also, file sizes are
generally larger. Also, I have not seen any program that creates PDFs that
consistently produces ALL the text in both model space and paper space
except for Adobe 7. Currently I'm trying to do this with 2002 since 2005
crashes every time. I have yet to see Adobe produce a quality Acrobat for
Autocad. You would think that after all these years they would have it
figured out by now.

TTF control/output format in a PDF is controlled by the printer driver: bet
if you go into your pdfwriter driver in Windows you might find a Fonts
button or tab that has an 'embed fonts' box you need to check or select.

If you are serious about quality or shared files, you need to make the leap
to DWF.

If you want to stay with PDF, get a better AutoCAD friendly software (line
merge and wipeout support built-in and more) like http://www.bluebeam.com
and
http://www.cadzation.com/

If all you need is a button to push, after you fix your driver, explore
using the -PLOT command to create a button.

Is your file a DWG from another application?
Did you try and create a new layout?
Insert the file into a working DWG file?

Some of us have to work with clients and contractors who barely can handle

PDF, won't or can't install OE or a DWF driver. Unfortunately PDF is the
standard.
