Named Plot Style problem |

We are using named plot styles and have it setup so that there is one plot style "Black" and it is set to use the objects lineweight, which means that whatever weight is set in the layer manager is the weight it plots. We have found that this works well until you setup your sheet to be a small scale like 1/16" because the lineweights are too heavy and you can't use Scale Lineweights because it is plotting full scale. I know of another firm that does this, but they wrote a little routine to half all the lineweights by 50%. Is this the best way to handle this and do you have any idea how it is done?
